Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 Migration Services

LeadThem Consulting has been running complex email and identity migrations since 2005. As a long-standing Quest Software partner, we use Quest On Demand Migration (ODM) and Migrator Pro for Active Directory to deliver tenant-to-tenant, on-premises-to-cloud, and cross-forest migrations with zero data loss and minimal user disruption. If your project has a deadline, a compliance requirement, or an acquisition behind it, we have already solved that problem before.

Our migration teams find the hidden dependencies and permission structures that derail in-house projects, before they surface during cutover. We plan the migration end to end, run source and target environments in coexistence for a controlled transition, and validate data fidelity before users are ever moved. The result is a migration that lands on schedule and does not generate a wave of helpdesk tickets the morning after.

ODM and Migrator Pro for Active Directory are components of Quest Secure Migration, one of two solutions in the Quest Security Management Platform. The other solution, Quest Identity Security and Resilience, covers the recovery and threat-detection products LeadThem also operates for clients who need ongoing identity protection after migration.

Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migration

The most common driver today is a merger, acquisition, or divestiture that leaves two Microsoft 365 tenants that need to become one. Quest On Demand Migration handles Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Entra ID in a single coordinated workflow. LeadThem manages the full project: discovery, mapping, coexistence routing, batch scheduling, and cutover validation. ODM preserves multi-factor authentication, Conditional Access policies, sensitivity labels, retention, and eDiscovery holds through the cutover, so security and compliance posture do not regress on the new tenant.

Active Directory and Entra ID migration

Whether you are consolidating forests after an acquisition, restructuring domain architecture, or moving from on-premises Active Directory to Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), LeadThem uses Migrator Pro for Active Directory and Quest On Demand Migration to handle cross-forest trusts, SID history preservation, workstation re-targeting, and Entra device migration. We migrate during business hours without requiring open inbound firewall ports or user-impacting outages.

Exchange to Exchange Online

Moving from on-premises Exchange to Exchange Online is more than a mailbox copy. LeadThem manages directory synchronization, mail routing coexistence, calendar and contacts fidelity, public folder migration, and cutover coordination with your IT team. We support both hybrid Exchange and direct cutover scenarios depending on your timeline and risk tolerance.

Legacy platform migrations

LeadThem has migrated users off platforms most firms have never touched. Using Quest's Migrator for Notes to Exchange, we move mailboxes, calendars, contacts, and journals from IBM and HCL Notes and Domino to Exchange Online with full fidelity. GroupWise to Exchange Online migrations are available as a specialist engagement. These are not routine projects; they require engineers who understand the source platform's data model, and that is the work LeadThem has been doing since long before Microsoft 365 existed.

Talk to a migration architect
What migrations does LeadThem handle?
Active Directory consolidations, Entra ID transitions, Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant moves, on-prem Exchange to Exchange Online, HCL Notes and Domino to Microsoft 365, GroupWise to Microsoft 365, and SharePoint migrations. M&A integration and divestiture work is a common driver for these projects.
How does LeadThem handle M&A IT consolidations?
M&A engagements typically combine an Active Directory consolidation with a Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migration, sequenced so identity moves first and workloads follow. LeadThem runs a discovery pass against both source and target estates, then writes a wave plan that prioritizes critical-business users and applications.
Do you migrate legacy platforms like HCL Notes or GroupWise?
Yes. LeadThem migrates HCL Notes and Domino mail, calendars, and select Domino applications into Microsoft 365. Novell GroupWise mail and calendars are migrated to Exchange Online. Both paths use Quest-supported tooling and run with full coexistence during cutover.
What is the typical migration timeline?
Small migrations (a few hundred users) run four to eight weeks. Mid-market migrations (one thousand to ten thousand users) run eight to sixteen weeks. Enterprise migrations with multiple integrated applications and complex SharePoint content run three to six months. Timelines tighten when both source and target are already well-documented.
Do you support cutover or coexistence approaches?
Both. Coexistence is the default for migrations larger than a few hundred users because it keeps both environments operational during the project and protects against rollback scenarios. Cutover migrations are appropriate for smaller customers or for tightly-scoped acquisitions where downtime can be scheduled.
