- Audience:
- SQL Optimizer for SQL Server Administrator(s) or super users
- Students are strongly encouraged to complete this course prior to any other SOSSE classes
- Prerequisites:
- Mid-level Windows Administration and SQL Server Administration skills
The class uses our advanced virtual training center (VTC), with each student assigned their own:
- Windows XP Machine
- Windows 2003 Middleware server with a SQL Server Instance
- Windows 2003 Production database server with a SQL Server Instance to monitor
Because every student gets complete control of their own “real world” setting, they spend their time in class “doing” instead of simply “watching” like in other training classes. Students spend approximately 60% of their time in this course doing hands-on lab work with our expert vs. listening to lectures.
After finishing this training, the students should be able to:
- Install and Configure SQL Optimizer for SQL Server
- Administrate SQL Optimizer for SQL Server
- Leverage and configure SQL Optimizer for SQL Server Best Practices & Advisories
- Identify problematic SQL queries within SQL Server instances
- Analyze and optimize troublesome SQL queries and transactions
This six hour course includes lab, lecture, and testing. It is offered as a private or public web-based course taught via the Quest VTC for up to eight students.
