Prerequisite: PowerShell Class 1 – Introduction to PowerShell 2.0
This course is intended for current and potential users and developers. LTC’s virtual training center is employed for our PowerShell classes. Every student in this virtual training center course will be assigned their own:
- Windows Server 2008 Server for installing and using with ARS
- Windows 2008 Server with Exchange 2007 already installed and running
- A Windows Domain Controller for an individual, fully operational domain
Our students are given the chance to build their personal "real world" environment on the class servers to experiment with PowerShell. This way, the students will learn by “doing” instead of “watching” via custom virtual training. They can also test their plans inside an applicable environment.
This virtual training class is intended for current users and developers of PowerShell who understand domain structure, basic user and group administration, and delegation of rights. Students completing this course should be able to:
- Use PowerShell and the Quest-supplied snap-ins for Active Directory to manage Active Directory
- Use various Quest cmdlets such as QADUser, QADGroup, QADComputer and QADObject
- Learn to manage users in Temporal Groups
- Create and manage virtual attributes to control users (i.e. disabled, locked and/or inactive accounts)
- Perform bulk moves and changes on users
- Use PowerShell scripts in provisioning policies and de-provisioning policies
- Use Powershell scripts in Workflow in ActiveRoles Server and Quest Quick-Connect
This three-hour class is offered in a single half-day session, including lab, lecture, and testing. This course can be taken as a web-based private class via LTC’s virtual training center for up to ten students from your group, or as a public class.
