This course is intended for both future and current users and developers.
LeadThem Consulting’s virtual training center (VTC) is utilized for this course. Each student enrolled in the course is assigned their own:
- Windows Server with PowerShell 2.0 installed
- Windows 7 Workstation with PowerShell 2.0 and PowerGUI installed
Each student in the LTC training lab is given the chance to build their personal environment and experiment with PowerShell in a “real-world” situation on the Production Class Servers. With full access to the tool in such an environment, students not only learn by “doing” instead of “watching”, they are also able to test plans and ideas in a safe environment that's still applicable.
This LeadThem Consulting virtual training course is meant for current PowerShell users and developers who understand basic user and group administration, delegation of rights, and domain structure. After completing this class, the student should be able to:
- Configure PowerShell, creating profiles and managing the Execution Policy
- Understand the basic syntax of the PowerShell scripting language
- Cover command naming conventions, input/output, data manipulation and process flow control
- Use the PowerGUI Script Editor to create and test scripts
- Establish a remote session and execute PowerShell scripts on a remote host
- Manage users and computers on Active Directory
- Learn troubleshooting techniques for debugging scripts
- Create a start-to-finish implementation for support personnel and other users, from back-end setup to user interface
This is a twelve hour class provided in two six-hour sessions that include lab, lecture, and testing. This course is provided as a private, web-based class via LeadThem Consulting’s custom virtual training center for up to ten students from the organization, or as a public course.
