- Audience:
- Security, AD, or Exchange Administrators who are implementing auditing in their environment
- Current ChangeAuditor users and administrators who want knowledge of the new features
- InTrust administrators who are moving or considering a move to a ChangeAuditor environment
- Pre-requisites:
- Basic administrative knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, and File Servers
- Understanding of Windows-based event logs
We use our virtual training center to provide each student with his or her own:
- Windows Server 2003 Server for the installation of the CA coordinator and client
- A Domain Controller for their own fully operational domain
- A Windows 2008 Server with Exchange 2007 installed and running
Each student will have the opportunity to build out their environment and experiment with the tool in “real world” situations. By giving the student complete access to the tool in an operational setting, the student will not only learns by “doing” instead of just “watching”; they can also test out ideas and plans in safe yet believable environment.
Upon completion of the training, the student should be able to:
- Install the Change Auditor Coordinator, Client, and Agents into their environment.
- Set the appropriate permissions for CA administrators and users.
- Use the CA client to view live auditing data from Active Directory, Exchange, and File Servers.
- Implement built-in real-time alerts; alerting changes or activity in Active Directory, Exchange, and File Servers.
- Develop and implement custom alerts in Active Directory, Exchange, and File Servers.
- Produce reports that are usable by security personnel, auditors, and administrators.
- Protect objects from accidental or malicious activity.
- Understand how to implement CA with InTrust to maintain data for long term auditing.
This is a 12-hour class done in two six-hour sessions that include lecture, lab, and testing. The lab time will also include some “testing” time for the students to practice what they have learned. It is offered as a private, web-based class taught via the VTC for up to eight students from one organization.
